Samsung is trying to gain some ground in the Smartphones market with the introduction of its new Samsung Galaxy S. The first impression of this Android-based phone is that Samsung is truly committed to standing toe to toe with its main competitors, Apple and Motorola. Could this be the one that brings them into the pack rather than bring up the rear? The first thing that hits you see this Samsung is its design. Unlike the new Apple iPhone 4G, which looks almost industrial, this phone is sleek and sexy. Measuring just 9.9 millimeters thin, the Galaxy S is now the thinnest Smartphone on the market. The next thing you’ll notice is the screen. It’s gorgeous! Featuring a 4″ Super AMOLED LED screen. It is 20% brighter, has 80% less reflections in bright sunlight, 20% more battery life and is 100% gorgeous! With specs like that you can finally use your cell phone outdoors in bright lighting and not have to hide underneath a slice of shade to see the screen. The HD movie recording and the HD video also look gorgeous on this screen. Samsung is not giving out the specs on this feature yet but the preview recordings looked amazingly sharp with really good frame rates. Samsung’s 1 GHz processor makes the Galaxy S feel very fast with no lag even with these early sample phones. When you switch to the home screen, you’ve got Android 2.1 OS multiple panes with widgets and a new feature that Samsung is really highlighting on the Galaxy S called Daily Briefings. With it, you’ll get your daily information like your news feeds, your weather, finance, your calendar and e-Reader content all on one screen. Along with the multiple panes, a new feature that Samsung is showing off is their new S Life user interface. You can just tap on an application and you get 3 new panes worth of widgets, like the Daily Briefings, All Share, Layars and dozens of other apps. Two other new features on the Galaxy S is Samsung’s exclusive Social Hub application. This brings your text messages, your emailing and your social applications all into one place for super easy management. Also, with the All Share DLNA sharing client and DLNA compatible equipment, you can actually send video from the Galaxy S directly to your television. So the big question is, when is it coming out? Even though Samsung has been elusive with that question, so far the best guess is this summer. And the cost? Samsung isn’t saying yet. The battery life? Again, that’s still up in the air. What we do know is that AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile have climbed on board as service carriers and Verizon is expected to be ready in the fall making this every carrier’s Android phone to watch this year.

June 23rd, 2010*** Ipod 8Gb Touch User User Reviews…
iPod 8GB touch – Awesome Portable Device
The 3rd gen iPod 8GB touch was a nice upgrade for me after owning the 1st gen ipod touch 16gb. Overall the touch is a lot faster. I noticed a huge difference when using graphic intensive apps like google earth or games like need for speed. I was disapppointed there were no real changes to the 3rd gen iPod 8GB touch from the 2nd gen. I was atleast hoping for an increase in battery life. It looks like from all the numbers online and from apples webstie the 3rd gen iPod 8GB touch has lost about 6 hours in audio playing time. The 2nd gen had a 36 hour music playtime and the 3rd gen has a 30 hour music play time.
Im guessing this maybe due to the fast processor and gaming chip with maybe draining the battery faster. The 3rd gen iPod 8GB touch comes with the voice control feature which is found on the other new ipods like the nano, shuffle and iphone 3gs. This feature cannot be added with the current 3.1 update to a 2nd gen ipod touch, it is built into the hardware. The voice feature is nice to have but isnt exactly that intutive. Unlike other voice features in other devices like cell phones where the phone will adapt and learn according to your voice, the ipod touch has no learning feature. It either understands what your saying or it doesnt (in which case you have to repeat yoursel unitl it does).
The 3rd gen also comes with the iphones mic/remote headset which is a nice added feature. Easy to change the volume or track and use the mic for apps like skype or shazam. Probably the main feature I really like about the 3rd gen is the speaker which I didnt have on my first gen. Mind you its not really that loud but great for casual listening like podcasts, gaming and itunes store preveiws for songs. I really like the fact that I can now use my iPod 8GB touch for making phone calls via voip.
Theres a quite a few apps available for this like: fring, skype, icall, etc. The quality is pretty good considering its voip. The touch also has other great features like the nike transmiiter, bluetooth, copy and paste (finally). The one thing I wish the touch had and also the iphone is the multitasking ability. Maybe some day apple will finally allow this. I find it so ancient coming from my blackberry bold which can run many apps at one time. It becomes annoying some times when you just want check the weather or email and your running another app.
The only app that can run in the background is music. But only music from the iPod itself not any app playing music like last.fm or flycast. Overall I love the touch especially since I tried the iPod classic and didnt like the click wheel at all. I have also purchsed the griffin navigate remote which allows me to change tracks, volume, playlists and listen to fm radio and have screen to see what song is playing. The 3rd gen iPod 8GB touch is a nice upgrade for me coming from my old 1st gen ipod touch.
If you have a 2nd gen ipod touch I don’t really see a need to get the 3rd gen. Unless you have run out of memory and need a 64gb or will be doing a lot of gaming on it. At this point there arent any games that can use the new touchs gaming speed yet. Other features of the 3rd gen can be upgraded on its own, like the mic/remote headset and the 3.1 update. So the only real features your missing are the voice control and the faster processor/gaming chip.

Google will launch the Android 2.2 and Nexus 2 on May 9
June 23rd, 2010Do you often pay attention to the latest events and news about the mobile phones? Will you be attracted by any new phones on the wholesale mobile phones market? Now the competition in the mobile field is very fierce. The manufacturers launch new models one after another.
The Google I/0 developer conference which will be holding on May 19 is approaching and the Google Android 2.2(Froyo) which will be published then will gain special attention from the public. Apart from that, the Nexus Two mobile phone may be jointly published by Google and MOTO on the conference.
The Android 2.2 is also called the Froyo. There was a report that the Android 2.1 will surpass the 2.1 a lot. In the test, the Android 2.2 improves the score by 450%. In this case, it is worth expecting to a great extent. And it’s certain that Google also expect a great deal from it. There are many improvements of the Android 2.2. It allows the application program installing on the micro-SD and supports Flash.
We know that Google has released the Nexus One in January. Currently, Google fully terminates the online selling of the Nexus One. Perhaps it has something to do with the iPhone 4G. The Nexus One is incapable of fighting against it. As the iPhone 4G will be published shortly, the Nexus Two may be developed to compete with the iPhone 4G.
It’s said that the phone created by MOTO is the discussed “Shadow”. Though such marks are yet to be confirmed by Official Google and MOTO, there’s news from official Google that there’s a mobile of MOTO independent brand going to appear in the Google shops. Thus, there’s great possibility for the Nexus Two to meet with you on the conference.
The Google I/O Developer Conference is worth expecting just like the 2010 Apple Worldwide Developer Conference which will begin on June 7. The Nexus Two launched jointly by Google and MOTO will be totally excellent if it comes with the Android 2.2.
